All movies aspire to capture the human spirit. They seek it out. And nowhere is that spirit found more than in places of worship. The Tavna Monastery is one such spirited place. An hour away from the city of Bijeljina, this ancient monastery has withstood a lot. It has been damaged, fixed, and rejuvenated, time and time again, for centuries. In its current form, the monastery complex is in some parts true to era in which it was built, while in others being a witness of all the time that has passed through its gates. And after all of that time, one thing is still felt and seen here – the spirit.
