The coal mine in Ugljevik, in the flat, Eastern part of the country, dominates the landscape. Its scale can only be grasped when you grasp the size of the machines, the trucks, and the excavators, that move around the mine like toys. It’s truly quite a psychedelic sight. Not just because of the size, but also because of the endless colorful layers of Earth uncovered through the mining operation. These barren, multicolored hillsides, cascade down for hundreds of meters into the depths of the mine, making the landscape seem otherworldly and providing a large number of unique and fascinating views and angles for your shots.
